DEVYN WASHBURN NAMED DIRECTOR OF SC CHAPTER OF TEACH FROM DEHART FOUNDATION

Devyn Washburn, a teacher in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, is taking the role of South Carolina Director of the Teach from DeHart Foundation. In this role, Washburn will provide opportunities for students in her classroom to excel outside their current learning environment. Through the foundation, Washburn will be able to take students on trips both locally and nationally, work together with other local SC organizations, and provide opportunities for their students. Washburn will oversee the Teach from DeHart operations in South Carolina.

Matt DeHart, founder of the Teach from DeHart Foundation and former SC educator and GCS Emerging Teacher of the Year, shared his excitement with the announcement. “Devyn is a fantastic part of our organization. She is the most organized and thoughtful individual I know. I am elated to have her bringing our educational methods back to the Travelers Rest and Greenville community, where it all began.” DeHart is currently in the process of opening his first school location, the Teach from DeHart Academy, in Arnold, PA. 

The Teach from DeHart Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 that is committed to creating opportunities through various trips, public speakers, and training that will instill positive morals and values, develop life skills for productive citizenship, and help establish short-term and long-term goals.
